Options in Insuring your Bike

The majority of states - including New York - require that operators of motorcycles, like automobiles, be licensed and the vehicles themselves be registered. To complete registration, motorcycles require liability insurance which protects the owner against costs associated with injuries to others or property damage resulting from a cycle accident.

In addition, coverages such as comprehensive or collision may be required by a lender if you have financed your motorcycle or if you wish to protect against accidental damage to the bike. Other perils such as theft or fire are also protected under this form of coverage.
